Irish DJ Producer Jonno O’Brien
The Kerry native DJ / Producer / Promoter Jonno O’Brien has quickly carved out his own niche among Irish dance artists, blending often dark and always funky elements into a tough new forward thinking and genre-busting sound that has been dubbed house, tech-house and funky techno.
He started DJing back in 1994 playing house and techno and perfected his trade until he ended up playing in the biggest UK Super clubs in the ensuing years, Ministry of Sound, Godskitchen, Planetlove, and Trade.
He has held down a long running residency at Horan’s club and fusion nights in Ireland, and supported A –Lister DJs such as Dave Clark, UMEK, SLAM, Ben Sims, Christian Smith, Yousef, and Trevor Rockcliffe.
In 2009, the Irish Daily Star newspaper hailed ‘O’Brien’ as “the most exciting new Irish producer of the year.”
Bushwacka named Jonno as ”favorite new artist in the Guardian paper Feb 2013”
Since he began producing his own tracks in 2008 with his debut release ‘My Groove’ his tracks have been gathering major support from the likes of Carl Cox, Ben Sims, Bushwacka, Christian Varela, Todd Terry and many more top players
Both Carl Cox and Christian Valera have used Jonno’s tracks on their mix compilations
