WHEN HOUSE MUSIC TOOK OVER THE WORLD

WHEN HOUSE MUSIC TOOK OVER THE WORLD

October 10, 2018 Off By Editor

A documentary about the early house scene featuring Nicky Siano, Marshall Jefferson, Honey Dijon, and Nile Rodgers.

Disco’s death gave birth to House Music in a time of great social unrest in Chicago, out of which the underground gay clubs eventually introduced House music to the world that eventually topped the UK charts and created the biggest youth cultural revolution in history!

‘I Was There When House Took Over the World’

This documentary is FAR superior to the sanitised bullshit that came out of the BBC recently. Nicky Siano owner of the legendary underground disco club in New York ‘the Gallery’ is allowed to tell the real story of how Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan started in his club before they became icons of the scene.

They also mention DJ Pierre extensively as the co-creator of ‘Acid house’, (this wasn’t even mentioned in the BBC doc)

They also mention that Jazzy M is the first DJ they knew of in the UK that played House on ‘radio‘, and on 35 mins the first UK club they mention is the FAC 51 The Hacienda.

Its really incredible how so far off point and irrelevant the BBC series has been.
