Review GLOWKiD

One of the finest and most contemporary UK Rave collectives is back again. Club Glow is a musical hub, which unites three acts in three big UK cities Bristol, Sheffield, and London! Their debut release came out 3 years ago and it was one of the highlight cassette releases of that year, that’s now getting a sequel with its tempo and style. There are new names, new styles, and even a new cassette look!

Time to open the ‘Club Glow Volume 3’ files and introduce the new signings of the label, AK Sports and Kessler. The perfect rave tape joint. Two sides comprised of 45 minutes each, including original and new tracks from these two geniuses. Mathematically it simply equals with the ideal and the most banging result.

Originally hailing from Sydney, AK Sports is one of those new talented producers and passionate radio DJs, running her incredible monthly show over Balamii Radio.

Side A of ‘This Rave Tape’ belongs to her totally. She offers 8 amazing tracks with a fusion of breakbeats, 4×4 techno-ish vibes, and even film sampling with our highlight track ‘Back In The Game’ being the most outstanding from there as it takes us to an early Moby soundscape combined with ‘00s Trance. A beautiful tune and an anthem!

On the side B, it’s Rotterdam-based producer and DJ, Kessler, a man who’s just sold out his debut 12” Vinyl EP over Shall Not Fade and he’s been into a great row of tracks and mixes over the last 2-3 years. Take for instance his personal highlight set at Mixmag Lab in London in 2019.

For this release, Kessler has created 9 heavyweight tracks placed on Side B and cooked up pretty well on a Jungle, Footwork, Electro tip. A crossover of styles that if you ask us what tune would we pick as our top, we’d say the mysterious ‘Stacks’ with its dirty bassline.

Noteworthy to mention that Side A was mixed by Antonia Gauci while Side B is mixed by Kessler himself.

Club Glow Volume 3 is available to order now in two options. First one is on a bright orange-colored cassette (coming also with an A5 rave flyer) and secondly on a digital format. Artwork by Mani Festo.

Club Glow have announced their first party of 2021, which will take place at Peckham Audio in London on 7th July.
