Big Fish Little Fish ‘Classic Family Rave with rave legend DJ Mark Archer (Altern 8) 9 June, 2pm – 4pm

Get your glow sticks at the ready and prepare yourself for the legendary DJ Mark Archer who will spin the best of Altern 8 and rave classics from acid house to drum and bass at the award-winning Big Fish Little Fish’s ‘Classic Rave’ themed family rave on Sunday 9th June at Tramline, Dublin.

Rave legend DJ Mark Archer celebrates over 30 years in the music business – he was there at the start of the acid house revolution and is delighted to be playing in Dublin for the launch gig. Bringing together life-affirming dance music, craft and play activities, the award-winning BFLF crew invite you to dress up, paint your face and go wild with your kids on the dancefloor to banging tunes. Raise a glass at the fully licenced bar and experience the full panoply of dancefloor effects: giant balloons, club lighting, confetti cannons and a huge parachute dance to round things off in this great venue with full club visual lighting effects.

“It’s ACE!” – DJ Mag “Credible music… magical” – The Guardian “Where’s the after party?” – 3 year old guest

A chance to dance, laugh, craft and be daft with all your family in your seasonal finery. With a toddler on your shoulders and pint in your hand – see you on the dancefloor!

Background of Big Fish Little Fish

Big Fish Little FIsh is an events company, founded in 2013 by Hannah Saunders, which produces Family Raves (indeed they coined the term) and in 5 years have become a world famous phenomenon. The raves are aimed at parents/carers and their children aged between 0-8 years and are great fun for both adults and children. The music is proper, credible dance music played by the best in DJ talent from across all genres – although we do consider 1988-1992 rave/jungle/drum ‘n’ bass to be a ‘classic’ BFLF set.

DJs who have played at BFLF include: Terry Farley, Binary Finary, 2 Bad Mice, Altern-8, Basement Jaxx, The Orb, Plex, Nihal, DJ Food, Coldcut, Slipmatt, Mixmaster Morris, Heavenly Jukebox, The Readers Wifes (Duckie), Aphrodite, Terry Francis, Liquid, Jacob Husley, Dave Booth, Mint Royale, Tom Middleton, Robin Hexstatic, London Elektricity, Plaid, Ashley Beedle and K Klass.

Big Fish Little Fish events always incorporate fancy dress themes, an effects laden
dancefloor full of bubbles, glitter cannons, giant balloons and a parachute dance and craft
activities for children. Some events host dancers and LED hula-hoopers.

In the UK, Big Fish Little Fish has been recognised by the annual Arts Council supported Fantastic For Families Awards (previously known as the Family Arts Festival Awards) in 2014 (Best Family Event), 2015 (Best Family Event: Audience Choice Award and 2016 (Best Family Event: Judges Choice, Best Family Event: Audience Choice, Best Family Welcome and Best Venue, in 2016-17 (Audience Choice award) and it 2018-19 (Audience Choice award).
