A brief description of what a microdot usually is, a microdot is text or an image substantially reduced in size onto a small disc to prevent detection by unintended recipients.  Well let me tell you that there’s nothing reduced in size or intentionally done to prevent detection from this exciting new minimal label, MICROdot.  MICROdot is another label to the every growing music empire that Ant Brooks and Adriana Vega are creating.  And this 3 track E.P. from Reverse Osmosis entitled Desert Dust is a perfect example of how perfectly infectious and groovy minimal can be.
Track 1) – BMRKJ :  With it’s fat rolling bassline, twitchy tapping arpeggio and random rise sounds, BMRKJ is a deliciously infectious track that you can’t help nodding your head to. The way the twitchy tapping arpeggio sound slows down and then speeds up to drag you along with the track is sublime. This is a great rolling minimal track.

Track 2) – Magic Man :  This track delves into a deeper soundscape with its panned synths and swell sounds in the background. This is a perfect track to keep your DJ set rolling along with. I love the way the synths are panned around to play with your senses as the track progresses, drifting from left to right.  Add a deep bassline into the mix and you’ve got a lovely minimal track with a deeper edge to glue your set together.

Track 3) – Monkey Didn’t Get Bananas :  This is a dark track. Pitched down vocal stab, swelling bassline, quirky drum beats.  Yet another nifty rolling track.  The track drops a cool, amusing but brilliantly chosen vocal which pans around whilst the track builds to drop again.  Make no mistake. This is a very, very cool, very well thought out track which perfectly compliments and rounds of the E.P.
