AVA Festival are pleased to announce a special closing party ‘Optimo 20’ on Sunday 4th June, in collaboration with the mighty Red Bull Music Academy. This Sunday street party, exclusively for AVA Festival ticket holders via a sign-up, will act as AVA Festival’s final event, taking place on lower Garfield street outside of Aether; and is curated by AVA Festival iconic Scottish x Irish duo Optimo; a team who’ve been defining culture in the electronic underground for over twenty years. A nod to the Sunday Sessions Optimo originally started two decades ago, this party will round off the AVA Festival and Conference weekender in the best way possible.

“We could never have imagined that what started out as a small gathering of like minded freaks on Sunday nights at The Sub Club back in 1997 would flourish and endure two decades later,” Optimo said recently, and since then they’ve made their mark as selectors, party starters, producers and label bosses. The dream team Jonny and Keith have been involved in AVA Festival since the beginning in May 2015, playing the main stage in year one, the Boiler Room stage in year two and now back with AVA Festival for this special collaboration for year three.

The Red Bull Music Academy have been pairing music legends and emerging beatsmiths since 1998 in cities such as Berlin, Cape Town, Melbourne, Barcelona, Rome, São Paulo, London, Tokyo and New York City. This unique combination of old school knowledge and new school sounds is unrivalled for its creative exploration and achievement. RBMA last visited Belfast in 2014 hosting the RBMA weekender and now returns to the city in a collaboration with Optimo and AVA to host a closing party like no other.

AVA Festival has fast become Ireland’s leading and most innovative electronic music event, an essential outing for any house and techno head. More than just a festival, punters are encouraged to get fully stuck in – exploring equipment, taking part in workshops, conferences and of course, the festival itself. Belfast is a thriving hub of creativity, ready to be discovered, and with so much going on there is the opportunity to make this a completely unique experience. There are plenty of accommodation options in the cities historic centre, with hotels and apartments, plus return flights at under £30 from major UK cities, AVA is a no brainer.
