So the latest is also from an impressive artist in Med In Mars and this one of many of his productions you will also find within the labels catalogue.
He’s an artist that’s originates from Marseille France and been a quite an active figure on the circuit whilst also featuring on labels such Traum, Suffused, Baroque Records, Clinique Recordings and ICONYC. He’s also a DJ with some key gigs under his belt that includes Caprices Festival Crans Montana (Switzerland), Ibiza, Zenzibar, Guy’s Bar (Koh Phangan, Thailand), I Love Sundays (New Caledonia), and The Gallery (London UK).
What you will notice whilst listening to the Med In Mars sound is, he’s quite a clever producer that has the ability to forge his own unique signature with a perfect array of influences, something that’s also evident on this release.
This is a three track EP that starts with the title track “Coquelicut”. Here we have what is quite a deep infectious affair with a sonically warm picture. There’s great Fx featured that really jump out at you whilst you are hypnotically absorbed and it’s uniquely arranged holding your attention throughout.
The 2nd title – “Donald Fook” pays a comical homage to the US president with a bouncy groove. It’s quite funky, energy driven with a relentless feel about it. The bassline is nicely rounded and drives along with more sublte fx and synth rises. There’s a fun element to this track whilst having a darker undernoted message.
Next we have – “whoo”, which really highlights the Med In Mars sound in style. Once again its got that unique groove that bounces along whilst techno stabs draw you in. There are great-embedded synths featured on this one and more whispery style voices. It’s a track, which delivers a good amount of energy, sonic detail with a real European flavour to it.
Synopsis, a fantastic release from the Se-Lek camp and Med In Mars. This is a label on the verge of great things; don’t miss the opportunity jump aboard right now.
