My Homies,’ the latest 140 BPM bass-driven track by Avilynn and Motivbreaks, stands as a testament to the power of global creative collaboration.

Released under Avilynn’s Not On Label Series, the track fuses pulsating rhythms with raw breakbeat energy and forward-thinking electronic music. It’s a piece that resonates with dancefloors while offering emotional depth for curated listening sessions, perfectly embodying the ethos of Avilynn’s independent, artist-driven initiative.

Avilynn, a visionary sound artist, DJ, and former label curator based in Berlin, who’s distinguished for her eclectic style and immersive DJ sets, explained the origins of the collaboration in a quick chat we had for this mag feature. Although her Not On Label Series typically involves working with artists she doesn’t know personally, her admiration for Motivbreaks’ dedication and talent made him a natural choice for this project.

“Although I have known Stamatis for many years,” she shared, “I chose him for this project because he is one of those who have sacrificed a significant part of their life for music, in such a humble and unique way.: Avilynn explained. Motivbreaks’ prolific output, including standout tracks like ‘The Light,’ further cemented her respect.

I was speechless when he told me the total number of his releases,”

she said.

A Seamless Collaboration

The production process for ‘My Homies’ was impressively efficient. Completed in just two sessions, the track reflects the combined versatility and expertise of both artists. “Both of us are experienced producers, so it was very easy to find common ground,” Avilynn explained. The resulting track hits hard with its powerful basslines, razor-sharp breakbeat rhythms, and layered atmospheric elements, transcending the usual club banger to become a standout in both dance and listening contexts.

This fluidity underscores the ethos of the Not On Label Series, which Avilynn describes as

“a global, inclusive community based on respect, creativity, and connection.”

The platform fosters collaboration and fairness, serving as a playground for artists to explore and innovate.

Building a Movement

‘My Homies’ is more than just a track—it’s part of a growing movement under the Not On Label Series, which aims to spotlight both established talents and hidden gems. Avilynn’s collaborations with artists like 2bit2bi and CommsBreakdown further reflect this mission of creative equality.

“Our goal is to eliminate inequalities,” she emphasized, “supporting talents like Stamatis who truly deserve the spotlight.”

The series’ approach not only produces exceptional music but also fosters a sense of community among its contributors. Every release under Not On Label is a true partnership, reflecting the unique ideas of all involved.

What’s Next for Avilynn and Motivbreaks?

Avilynn’s future is packed with exciting projects. “I’ve started producing a lot of techno demos to pitch to selected labels,” she shared. Alongside this, she plans to continue her monthly NOL releases with global artists and aims to prepare a live performance for 2025 with a singer and a special project with sound designer Sebastian Poloni.

“If everything goes as planned, it will be my first live show,”

she revealed. Avilynn is also open to podcasts, gigs, remixes, and VA projects that align with her vision.

Motivbreaks, meanwhile, continues to be a prolific force in the Breakbeat scene, with fresh releases available on his Bandcamp page. Avilynn expressed her confidence in his future output, calling him a

“brilliant and humble talent.”

A follow-up to ‘My Homies’ may also be on the horizon, with both artists eager to build on their successful collaboration.
